The world premiere of Margarita Zelenaia’s emotionally intense and thrilling ‘anti-tyranny’ opera, titled ‘Caligula’s Favorite Play,’ is scheduled for June 17, 2026. It will take place in the medieval UNESCO-protected Teatro di Olimpico in Vicenza, Italy. The libretto is freely inspired by Albert Camus’ famous play ‘CALIGULA’ (Copyright Ⓒ Editions Gallimard) and was written by Eric Nicolas and Igor Tsunsky. Experienced professionals are working on this incredible new production, which will culminate in a high-quality ‘opera film’, produced and brought to life by Regium Lepidi Opera, with the participation of theater/film director Mario Parruccini.
